Today's Reflection - (Ayah 37, Surah Al- Baqarah)

فَتَلَقَّىٰ آدَمُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ كَلِمَاتٍ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful.

As we all know the Adam (AS) was the first human being on the earth. In this ayah Allah mentions that he taught Adam (AS) the dua which should be recited when one repents and want to seek forgiveness from Allah.

Many times it happens that we make a mistake and we do repent but do not how to seek forgiveness, this are the words we should use:

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

Here we understand that Allah is our creator and he knows what we are going through. Adam as was remorseful and Allah knew it. We sometimes think that nobody can understand us, but we often forget that Allah understands us inside out. How much ever we try to explain our situation to people they cannot understand us because every human being has a different journey, different view, they do not see the world like how we see it or have gone through different hardships and so their outlook toward life would be different, they may just listen to you and say a few wise words but ultimately only Allah can understand you and give solutions for your problems, Only he can open a locked door or guide you towards the door where you belong.

Making mistakes is a part of human nature, but Allah is the most merciful and the ever forgiving, He forgives those who seek forgiveness sincerely after repenting. It is said that the people of the paradise and the hell both are sinners no human is perfect but those who repent and seek forgiveness will attain guidance and reach jannah, while those who sin and stay arrogant  reach the hell fire as their final abode. So keep making this dua as we all have wronged ourselves knowingly as well as unknowingly. We do not want to be among the losers, so forgive our sins “Ya Allah” and guide us to the straight path.
