Today's Reflection - (Ayah 37, Surah Al- Baqarah)

Then Adam received words from his Lord, so He relented towards him. He is the Relenting, the Merciful. As we all know the Adam (AS) was the first human being on the earth. In this ayah Allah mentions that he taught Adam (AS) the dua which should be recited when one repents and want to seek forgiveness from Allah. Many times it happens that we make a mistake and we do repent but do not how to seek forgiveness, this are the words we should use: رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers. Here we understand that Allah is our creator and he knows what we are going through. Adam as was remorseful and Allah knew it. We sometimes think that nobody can understand us, but we often forget that Allah understands us insid...

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."(Quran31:19)

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."(Quran31:19)   A believer has many responsibilities apart from fulfilling the principles of Islam. We know most of the responsibilities through the Quran itself and through the seerah of    Prophet Muhammad or through his hadith. In this ayah one of our responsibility towards the whole humanity is mentioned. A believer has to be in the best behavior not only with is Muslim brothers but to every human being without differentiating him based on his religion.   Here Allah mentions the advice   Luqman ( the wise) gives to his son. First part of the ayah says to be moderate in the pace you walk in. The pace of walking is some thing we don’t even think about, here it doesn’t not...

Today's Reflection (Ayah 35-36 , Surah Baqarah)

وَقُلْنَا يَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنْهَا رَغَدًا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ - (Quran 2:35) And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers." فَأَزَلَّهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ عَنْهَا فَأَخْرَجَهُمَا مِمَّا كَانَا فِيهِ ۖ وَقُلْنَا اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ -  (Quran 2:36) But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time. As we already learned that shaytaan was arrogant and did not follow the command of Allah in the previous ayah, in this ayah Allah tells Adam (as) "You and your wife...

Whoever recites surah Yaseen once , Allah will record the reward of reciting the Quran ten times.

Whoever recites surah Yaseen once , Allah will record the reward of reciting the Quran ten times” *  (Tirmidhi 2812/A) Every Surah of Quran is important and contains deep meaning but every thing has heart and heart of magnificent Quran is Surah Yaseen. It is the 36th surah of  the Quran and has 5 Rukus and 83 verses and is a meccan Surah.  These themes are basics of Islam and can be classified as Summary of whole Quran. The meaning of name yaseen is “The opening letters of the first verse of surah Ya Sin (36:1)” يس  This surah has a strong effect on the believing soul. 1. The Heart of Quran: Prophet Muhammad SAWS said in one of His hadith in the following way: “Surely everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Yaseen. I would love ,that it be in the heart of every person of my people.” (Tafsir-al- Sabuni Vol.2)  SubhanAllah, according to Islam, love constitutes the basis of the relationship between God and human. Allah created man because He lov...

Today's Reflection - (Ayah 34, Surah Al -Baqarah)

And We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They bowed down, except for Satan. He refused, was arrogant, and was one of the disbelievers. (Quran 2:34) Satan here is the Iblis who was amongst the race of Jinn. Before he became one of the cursed after sinning , he was among the most knowledgeable and devoted worshipers of Allah (SWT). What was the first sin? It was this sin of Iblis. The sin of arrogance. This disobedience of not bowing down to Adam (A.S) upon hearing Allah (SWT) command came from the roots of arrogance and pride. So what is in it for us , the progeny of Adam (A.S) ? Adam (A.S) was honored with the power of knowledge which even the angels weren't given. As a form of respect the angels were commanded to bow down to Adam, not for the reason of worship. But the most devoted and loyal worshipers of Allah got the fa...

Repel the evil with that which is better.

Good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with good, and the person who was your enemy becomes like an intimate friend. But none will attain it except those who persevere, and none will attain it except the very fortunate. (Quran 41: 35) In Surah Fussilat, we have been advised to repel evil with good.  Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "There is no better punishment for one who has disobeyed Allah with regard to you, than your obeying Allah with regard to him.''  This ayah teaches us clearly that there is a massive difference between good and evil. This act of repelling evil with good is one of the hardest things to do. But are we not believers? Do we not believe in the signs (verses) of Allah. Some of them...

Today's Reflection (Ayah 31-33, Surah Al-Baqarah)

And He taught Adam the names, all of them; then he presented them to the angels, and said, “Tell Me the names of these, if you are sincere. (Quran 2:31) قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ They said, “Glory be to You! We have no knowledge except what You have taught us. It is you who are the Knowledgeable, the Wise.”(Quran 2:32) He said, “O Adam, tell them their names.” And when he told them their names, He said, “Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of the heavens and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?” (Quran 2:33...

The companion who is the best to Allah is the best to his companion and the neighbor who is the best to Allah is the best to his neighbor.

“The companion who is the best to Allah is the best to his companion and the neighbor who is the best to Allah is the best to his neighbor” Sahih Muslim Islam is such a beautiful religion, the more we study about it the more we feel blessed. Alhumdullilah. In this Hadith our Prophet Mohammed (SAWS) tells us how important it is for us to be the best with our companions and neighbors, as it will be considered as if we are the best in behavior toward Allah. Our companions can be any one, our spouse, our siblings, our work mates, our traveling companions etc , any person with whom you spend time with. In our day to day life we meet different kinds of people, some times you are not the one who choose your companion but still you will have to spend hours or days with them, they may or may not have the same values, thoughts, manner etc. but the hadith tells us that we have to put our differences apart and be the best towards them. What does it mean by being the best toward them? It is to...

Today's Reflection (Surah Baqarah ,Ayah 30 )

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."(Quran 2:30) What is described here is not the creation of human beings, but the characteristics, responsibilities, powers and blessings given by Allah . One of these, and perhaps the most important, is the sending down of a vicergent. He is the caliph خَلِيفَةً that Allah will create on earth, or he is the caliph of Allah. The angels are asking for the wisdom of Adam's creation as the caliph, by revealing what...

O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule other people

"O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers” 49:11 Quran Were we not sent to this world saying "we serve God"? Then instead of commemorating him, how can we humiliate one another insult each other ,but also fall behind in vain deeds?! All of these are called "malayani" in Islamic terminology. The term mâ la-ya ni which means "does not have any meaning and value for a person, does not concern him", "behaviors in which a person or property will not be harmed or sin will not be committed if he does not do it" (Gazzali, III, 113) It is explained as "works that he does not need, that are not ...

Today's Reflection [Ayah 29 , Surah Al-Baqarah]

It is He who created for you everything on earth, then turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He is aware of all things. (Quran 2:29) We all are aware that Allah alone is the Khaaliq. The one and only creator. He is reinforcing this aspect by telling his creations that everything he makes is for us. These are blessings that we can never count. There are numerous things we take for granted and dont realise it. Allah SWT created the earth and he has provided for all our needs and then went on to creating the seven heavens. The earth and its produce and everything in the universe was created by Allah with no difficulty at all. He is all powerful and can do as he pleases.  Allah gave us eyes to see but imagine not being able to blink. He gave us the 5 fingers to use for our daily activities, imagine not bein...
