Today’s Reflection : [Ayah 23-24 Surah Baqarah]

  وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِى رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَى عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُواْ بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُواْ شُهَدَآءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـدِقِينَ

 

Ayah 23:

“And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.”

 

 فَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلُواْ وَلَن تَفْعَلُواْ فَاتَّقُواْ النَّارَ الَّتِى وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَـفِرِينَ 

 

Ayah 24:

“But if you do not – and you will never be able to – then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.”

 

 

       Human beings are created at the level of reasoning and realization that can grasp the divine truths that is perfect. He is capable of realizing the intellectual truth that Allah Almighty has given to mankind. With this mind, the human asks, “What am I, how I was formed, what will be my end, how was the universe created by order?”.

  

In this verse, “if you are in doubt about the verses that we have sent down to our servant” what do you think, What Allah can mean with his words? The first thing that comes to our mind is the reason why Quran was sent down for us. As mentioned by Allah in  this ayah 

* ”And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.” (Quran 27:77)*

How can we doubt the book that guides us to path we are walking on ?!

How can anyone be able to produce something like the Quran, when the Quran is the Word of Allah Who created everything how can the words of the created ever be similar to the Words of the Creator.

    How some of the people of books or disbelievers left the truth and followed only their fathers Did they did not find the books sent by Allah enough? They believed in batil (false )beliefs... and what was the consequence? The wandered blindly in search for peace.

    Although, we know the reason for revelation of this verse and that this ayah was sent down to the transgressing qowm (society), but we are also asked to take a lesson.

     This ayah ends with a big message for all of us. Indeed, it is a challenge from Allah. If you do not believe in the Quran ,produce a similar Surah nd that if you will not be able to produce a surah after accepting Allah’s challenge and certainly you will not be able to do so, then be ready for the eternal Hellfire.

    If we want the guidance, we should read the Quran daily, ponder on each ayah and if is it hard to understand at once, what can we do ? ponder , spend more time on it, surely we ’ll  get answers to all of our questions. InshaAllah.

   The Quran depicts our life in its own sense. It is a holy blessing that does not  deserve to be read in every ramadan and then be hidden in the shelf. 

May Allah  keep us among the fearful believers and make us ahleel Quran (people of Quran)
