And of His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquility in them; and He planted love and compassion between you. In this are signs for people who reflect.

( Quran 30:21) And of His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquility in them; and He planted love and compassion between you. In this are signs for people who reflect. From this beautiful ayah we learn that it is Allah who puts love and mercy between the hearts of any 2 people. If you are in a situation where you cant seem to gain the other person's love , affection or mercy, then this ayah is for you. to comfort your soul. It is vital to remember that even if tried everything in the dunya to win another person's heart, we cannot until Allah puts mercy and love in their hearts for us. For people who reflect will realise that 2 people who dont know eachother and perhaps have massive differences in their characters and also are complete opposites o...

Today’s Reflection (Ayah 28 Surah Baqarah)

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned. How can any human deny the existence of Allah, the creator, how do you disbelieve and worship any god other than Allah. Here Allah is clearly mentioning us that He is the one who gives us life before we we even came into existence. Our journey of life is explained very beautifully in this small ayah. We were nothing then Allah gave us life , and then he will give us death and then raise us again on the day of Akhira. Do you not realize how small this life is, the first two stages in our life are over and then the next stage is waiting. Every human being shall taste death as A...

If you are grateful, He will surely increase you in favor (14:7)

If you are grateful, He will surely increase you in favor (14:7)   SubhanAllah such a beautiful ayah. In our day to day life, usually what happens when we do some one a favor, we expect them to thank us and appreciate us but when it comes to the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us we seldom thank Allah. Allah blesses us abundantly and when we thank him sincerely for even a few of his blessing , he increases it ( gives us barakah) in it. How amazing is that? If you want barakah in any thing at all, just thank Allah constantly. Expecting appreciation and gratefulness  from people will only lead us to depression and ill feeling towards others. This is one of the biggest test for us, Allah test every human being by blessing him as He mentions in this ayah(27: 40) “…This is by the grace of my Lord! – to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ...

Today’s reflection (Ayah 27 Surah Baqarah )

الَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مِيثَـقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الاٌّرْضِ أُولَـئِكَ هُمُ الْخَـسِرُونَ * Who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers* In this ayah three important examples of the bad ethics and behavior of those who oppose Allah's order and choose the path of rebellion are cited: 1)  The covenant that they broke (over here people of book did this wrong) This covenant was reiterated in Allah’s Books and by the words of His Messengers. Ignoring this covenant constitutes breaking it. It was said that about the disbelievers and the hypocrites among the People of the Book. How can we not take lesson for ourselves?!  Sometimes we promise to Allah, I will do such and such things (for example 100 nafil salah) in the way of  Allah or something else, when our demand (dua or wish) bec...

Anger is a coal that satan throws into the human heart." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi

The advice of our Prophet (SAWS) was do not be angry. A man came to the Prophet (SAWS) and said, "Admonish me." “The Prophet (SAWS) said: Do not be angry. Our beloved Prophet (SAWS) described what anger means to our life : "Anger is a coal that satan throws into the human heart." Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, in his book Fitna, in 2191.  How perfectly words are placed in this hadith, it is the bitter truth of how we can see signs of anger on our faces. SubhanAllah. Coal inflames the heart and therefore the face of the angry one becomes red and the veins tense. Sometimes the hair is tangled. It's such a different feeling that a person can suddenly lose his control. Now, can we all daily try to not be angry or can we apply what our deen teaches us? My dear sisters and brothers in Islam, of course we can not find anyone who is always calm or who is always patient. But are we trying to be patient? Or do we even try to ponder before saying something?! It is normal, includ...

Today's Reflection - [Ayah 26, Surah Al-Baqarah]

(Quran 2:26) God does not shy away from making an example of a gnat, or something above it. As for those who believe, they know that it is the Truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say, “What did God intend by this example?” He leads astray many thereby, and He guides many thereby; but He misleads thereby only the evildoers. Have you ever thought about the  magnificence of the little creatures of our Rabb. A shrimp that is called the shrimp mantis has the capability of delivering a punch that is equal to the force and intensity of a 0.22 caliber bullet. A tiny bug such as the dragon Millipedes produce the most intens...

He said, “O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they plot and scheme against you. Satan is man's sworn enemy.

He said, “O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers, lest they plot and scheme against you. Satan is man's sworn enemy. ( Quran 12:5) Prophet Yaqoob (A.S) son, Prophet Yusuf (A.S) had a dream that the sun, the moon and eleven stars bowing down to him. Then the this ayah narrates how Yaqoob (A.S) told his son to keep this dream private. Without getting into the details, in short anyone can understand that this dream means something great and good. However something critical to note in this ayah is that good things need to be kept private. A lesson perhaps we all need constant reminders of while being engrossed in social media. Lets contemplate on this single ayah. Yaqoob (A.S) was very protective of his sons Yusuf (A.S) and Bin Yamin (A.S). The moment he heard this dream from his son, he knew what it meant. He did not want his so...

Todays Reflection [Ayah 25, Surah Al-Baqarah]

وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ كُلَّمَا رُزِقُوا مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَمَرَةٍ رِزْقًا ۙ قَالُوا هَٰذَا الَّذِي رُزِقْنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ وَأُتُوا بِهِ مُتَشَابِهًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا أَزْوَاجٌ مُطَهَّرَةٌ ۖ وَهُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ "And give good news to those who believe and do righteous deeds; that they will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with fruit therefrom as sustenance, they will say, “This is what we were provided with before,” and they will be given the like of it. And they will have pure spouses therein, and they will abide therein forever." (2:25) We humans are reward oriented. Only when we know what we are going to achieve then only we put our best foot forward. But do we do the same when we hear the incomparable rewards that Allah has reserved for the believers and those who do good deeds or do we ignore it? In this ayah Allah gives the good news to those wh...

He, who wishes to enter paradise at the best gate, must please his father and mother.

He, who wishes to enter paradise at the best gate, must please his father and mother. (Bukhari & Muslim) This, very simple Hadith, has so much weight. Pleasing our parents does not only bring happiness to us in this duniya but also gives us great rewards in the aakhira. Pleasing parents requires constant hard work just as our parents worked hard day and night to raise us. These days we love our personal space so much that we get upset when our parents demand some time of ours or some help from us and we get irritated if this happens often. Just imagine how much time we took from their life? And now when it is time to repay a little we move back. Such is our generation. Our parents were our way to this duniya and our way to jannah. Give them attention, time, respect them, be kind to them, make them happy ,do the things they like together (even if it is drinking morning tea with them ) it means a lot to them. Make a schedule and take out some time for them even if you are far a...

Today’s Reflection : [Ayah 23-24 Surah Baqarah]

Ayah 23: “And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.” Ayah 24: “But if you do not – and you will never be able to – then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.”            Human beings are created at the level of reasoning and realization that can grasp the divine truths that is perfect. He is capable of realizing the intellectual truth that Allah Almighty has given to mankind. With this mind, the human asks, “What am I, how I ...
