"And say (O Muhammad) to my servants, to say always that which is best" Quran (17:53 )
Such a beautiful advise which adds deep meaning to our lives!
What are the best words?! The best words are that which are true, useful, makes you happy and words that are sufficient etc.
1) A beautiful word is that when spoken is always true.Whenever you speak say only the truth to everyone! Sometimes what happens? Specially when we talk to our kids, by lying, we think we make our own lives easier or we are helping our kids, or keeping them quieter. But consequently, it becomes a habit and day to day it leads us to say more lies. At the end of the day our kids or those who are around us donβt believe us, even if we say truth, likewise the assurance and loyalty is decreasing.
2) A beautiful word is that when spoken is useful. For example, an advise to those who wish to study is to tell them βStrive for progress, not perfectionβ .
Useful words means speech which is beneficial, leads you to learning more and exploring the truth.
3)A beautiful word is speech that is loving and pleasing.
Of course, every word of affection that is said tenderly is beautiful. As we all know, love begets love. Just as how our Rasool(SAWS) taught us wherever you are, talk to whoever you talk to with love, not with hate. Make it easy, donβt make it difficult.
4) A beautiful word is speech that is sufficient and to the point. This is important. Why? Because it protects our good amal (deeds). It can be understood like βour words determine what our scales will hold in the hereafterβ. More is wasted, less is good. Jokes, ridicule and empty talks lead us to trouble. How? Instead of striving our very best to put the remembrance of Allah first in our lives no matter what comes our way we end up talking uselessly and forgetting Him.
Allah does not like, those who speak idly. When we talk, we should think about the disaster of harmful speech.
If we are busy with unnecessary words, we will kill our precious and limited time.However, if we contemplate the greatness of Allah, we are in a position to receive great rewards.
While it is possible to reach precious treasures in Jannah by saying beautiful words, is it foolish to engage our tongue with useless things and to be deprived of these blessings.
