And your lord says call upon me and I will answer you.
This is an ayah that sticks very close to many peoples hearts. The ayah gives hope to many and sheds light to many who are struggling to get out of darkness.
Allah says he is waiting for us to to talk to him. While he is the most magnificent and the creator of the universe and everything in it and yet he says to us being in this lower status to call upon him and that he is near. SubhanAllah
Allah says he is always listening and always waiting for us to call upon him. How often do we take advantage of this kalam (speech of Allah) and call upon him the only one who is capable of changing whatever situation we are in? It doesnt matter if we are always making dua and calling upon him or its our first time to call upon our Rabb. Our rabb promises us in this ayah that he will respond to anyone who calls. It could be anyone who finally picked up his hands even by accident.
This ayah is a true gift for those who have a hard time picking their hands up in dua and asking , begging and pleading from their Rabb. As Allah does not put conditions for us to be righteous or knowledgeable or good. He just asks us to call upon him and he will answer. Who could loves us more than him. Who could give us such an open unconditional invitation to remember him and call him so he could answer our call? Noone.
Allah says he will answer us no matter what. So what are waiting for? Lets just try it once if we have never done it before. And if we have been constant callers then lets not give up hope in our call to Allah. Truly he is closer to us than our jugular vein (Quran 50:16). Noone understands our emotions as much as he does. Noone knows the innermost details of our situation as much as He does. So lets call upon Allah and he will respond to us.
