And say (O Muhammad) to my servants ,to say always that which is best

وَقُلْ لِّعِبَادِىۡ يَقُوۡلُوا الَّتِىۡ هِىَ اَحۡسَنُؕ  "And say (O Muhammad) to my servants, to say always that which is best" Quran (17:53 ) Such a beautiful advise which adds deep meaning to our lives! What are the best words?! The best words are that which are true, useful, makes you happy  and  words that are sufficient etc. 1) A beautiful word is that when spoken is always true.Whenever you speak say only the truth to everyone! Sometimes what happens? Specially when we talk to our kids, by lying, we think we make our own lives easier or we are helping our kids, or keeping them quieter. But consequently,  it becomes a habit and day to day it leads us to say more lies. At the end of the day our kids or those who are around us don’t believe us, even if we say truth, likewise the assurance and loyalty is decreasing. 2) A beautiful word is that when spoken is useful. For example, an advise to those who wish to study is to tell them “Strive for progress, not ...

Today's Reflection (Ayah 21-22, Surah Baqarah)

O people! Worship your Lord who created you and those before you, that you may attain piety. He who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure, and sends water down from the sky, and brings out fruits thereby, as a sustenance for you. Therefore, do not assign rivals to God while you know.(2:22) The message Allah conveys in these 2 ayahs is phenomenal. Firstly it confirms that He alone is our creator and creator for everything and hence he alone deserves worship. This is a part of Tawheed (affirming oneness of our Rabb) which is crucial for any new comer to the Deen or even those who are muslims but have confusions about these basic ...

Today's Reflection [ Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 19-20]

(Quran 2:19) Or like a cloudburst from the sky, in which is darkness, and thunder, and lightning. They press their fingers into their ears from the thunderbolts, in fear of death. But God surrounds the disbelievers. (Quran 2:20)   The lightning almost snatches their sight away. Whenever it illuminates for them, they walk in it; but when it grows dark over them, they stand still. Had God willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. God is capable of everything. This ayah has a very deep meaning and every Muslim should reflect on it. Allah says the example...

So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.

So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me. 2:152 Zikr is remembering Allah consciously to please him. It is the best thing a believer can do to make the best use of his time. What is zikr and why is it given so much importance? Believe it or not dear brothers and sisters, Zikr is the key to all kind of your problems. Aren’t we in need of something that could solve all our problems in this duniya. The first and foremost benefit of zikr is that which is mentioned in this ayah, Allah remembers him, who remembers Allah. Just imagine to be noticed by Allah is a dream and to achieve that dream all we have to do is just do zikr. We remember him in seclusion, and He remembers us when he is alone, we remember him in the company of righteous people, He remembers us in the company of his Angels. SubhanAllah. I am as my slave expects me to be, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he rememb...

Today's reflection [Ayah 18, Surah Al-Baqarah]

صُمٌّ بُكْمٌ عُمْيٌ فَهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ “Deaf, dumb and blind – so they will not return [to the right path]". (2:18) In this present ayah we see how Allah gives additional characteristics of the hypocrites. In previous ayah they were enlightened, but Allah took their light. Now lets imagine a person who is deaf, blind and dumb, Can he be guided? Not at all. Over here Allah says they are صُمٌّ (deaf). Why? Because they don’t hear the truth (of Islam), بِكُمْ dumb hence they cannot say the words that might benefit them in this world and the hereafter. عَمًى blind -they are far away the noor (light of Islam) ,in total darkness. And we see at the end of the ayah Allah says,They will not return  ر ج ع (it means go back where person came from) to the right way. Over here it can be understood munafeqoon will not come to the path of guidance. Why? Because they will never realize their shortcomings. Whatever they’re doing, for them it is correct .They are not guided at all .Every door o...

And whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running

Hadith Qudsi: "And whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running."* What a big response, What a big opportunity to be close to Allah.SubhanAllah. How Allah loves us and how Allah encourages us to show Him our loyalty ,right deeds and correct actions. Our Lord Almighty didn’t close the door of any servant who sinned and regretted his sin. Likewise, closeness between Allah and abd (servant) becomes stronger. As Allah says in Surah Shura Ayah 23 "And whoever commits a good deed - We will increase for him good therein. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Appreciative" Allah gives us so many chances for repentance,His Mercy is so abundant, yet so many of us are keeping ourselves occupied with worldly things . 😞 So ,what are we striving for? Have we forgotten the main reason for our creation is to worship Allah? Or we have completely forgotten how short the life in this dunya is. Let's speed up together to be close to Allah. And May Allah accept all our e...

Today's Reflection [Ayah 16-17, Surah Baqarah]

These are the ones who have purchased error in exchange for guidance. This bargain has brought them no profit and certainly they are not on the Right Way.(2:16) (2:17) They are like him who kindled a fire, and when it lit up all around him, Allah took away the light (of their perception) and left them in utter darkness where they can see nothing. ‏In today's era, it is very common for people to exchange their innocence and truthful nature for fame, status, power and money. Everything that is temporary is bought in this world that cannot be benefitted by us in any way whatsoever in the hereafter. The reason people exchange the truth for falsehood or guidance for...

Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward.

Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward. (8:28) Islam always advocates for a balance when it comes to the worldly pleasures. We need to be aware upto what extent we can indulge in these pleasures so that it does not drive us away from our main goal. The main purpose of man's creation was for worship, as Allah mentions in Surah Adh-Dhariyat وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ الۡجِنَّ وَالۡاِنۡسَ اِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُوۡنِ‏ I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me. (51:56) No one else has created everything in the universe except Allah, and hence he alone deserves worship. Therefore we as muslims should remind ourselves of our main purpose which is to attain the hereafter and not indulge excessively in attaining the pleasures of this world. Anyone who occupies himself with showing off or a...

Today's Reflection [Ayah 14-15 , Surah Baqarah]

And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."(2:14) [But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.(2:15)   In this Ayah Allah mentions another trait of a hypocrite. When he is with a believer, he pretends to believe and when he is around disbelievers, he mocks the believers and their faith without realizing that Allah is all seeing, all hearing and all knowing. Allah does not guide such people in this duniya instead he leaves them to wander blindly in this duniya. They will not find any peace or tranquility in their life. This ayah reminds us that whatev...
