𝐍𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐡 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 (𝐬𝐚𝐰)

𝐍𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐡 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 (𝐬𝐚𝐰) Nabeez'[Nabidh] was one of the drinks consumed by the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). In his time, it was typically made with dates or raisins and water. It is an alkalizing tonic, having the tendency to remove acidity from the stomach and digestive system and it also helps to remove other metabolic wastes from the body. It improves digestion as it's high in soluble fibre and it strengthens the memory. It assists the spleen function, liver, throat, chest and prostate, and so is particularly good for men. Nabeez will also benefit patients of Arthritis and elevated levels of Uric Acid (gout). Making Nabeez is just as simple as soaking the dates (or raisins/ sultanas) overnight and drinking the water in which they were soaked in the morning insha'Allah, but when it is embraced and honoured as one of the great Sunnah...

Anyone who loves the Prophet (saws) must follow his sunnah.

Anyone who loves the Prophet (saws) must follow his sunnah. There are different kinds of sunnah - his (saws) manners, practices, actions, words and his approvals.  When it comes to his manners there are three types.  The First is the As- Sunnatul Qawliyyah - The sayings or statements of the Messenger of (saws). The Second is As- Sunnatul Faeliyyah - the deeds and actions of Prophet (saws). The Third kind is As- Sunnatul Taqreeriyyah - the approvals of the prophet (saws).  An examples of Sunnatul qawliyyah can be understood from this hadith. We learn that Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “When one of you eats a meal, let him begin in the name of Allah. If he forgets to say it in the beginning, let him say: In the name of Allah, in its beginning and its ending. Any deed of the prophet (saws)...

Today's Reflection [Ayah 64 , Surah Al- Baqarah]

But after that you turned away. Were it not for God’s grace and mercy towards you, you would have been among the losers. (Quran 2:64) We read in the previous ayah that the people of bani israel refused to follow the torah and only threatened to squish them with the mount tur they agreed. In this ayah Allah shows that He blessed them with his mercy and they were not punished immediately. What do we learn in this ayah? The only thing that saves us from any loss or any destruction is Allah’s mercy. Without his mercy the most pious person can also not be sure of attaining the Jannah. So who ever does any good deed, he has to do it with the intentions of it being accepted and pleasing Allah because that is the only way to Jannah. His mercy will only save us from hellfire. Our deeds are a weightless on the scale if they are not accepted, if Allah is not please...

If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you

Surah Al - Anfal :70 There is an ayah in Surah al-Anfal that is in the context of War, but the beauty of the Qur’an is such that you can read a verse and it brings a whole new meaning to you than the standard tafsir. Consider this ayah: “…If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give you something better than what has been taken from you, and He will forgive you, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Anfal: 70]  The Prophet (s) was commanded by Allah to say this to the captives taken in war. But it’s also something that we can say to ourselves whenever a worldly benefit is removed from our hands, because let’s face it: we may not be captives of war, but we are captives of the Dunya and this is why a loss devastates most of us. Our hearts become attached...
